The Firm usually recruits three or four trainee solicitors each year. Our training contract offers exposure to both contentious and non-contentious work, with the precise mix varying according to the skills and interests of the trainee and the requirements of the Firm.
The quality of and commitment to training at the Firm has been recognised by a nomination for Best Trainer - Medium Regional Firm at the LawCareers.Net Training and Recruitment Awards (TARAs).
Trainees are expected to take responsibility and show initiative from an early stage. As well as clear evidence of academic ability, the Firm looks for an obvious commitment to the Law, good interpersonal skills and a rounded personality.

Testimonials
“When I began my search for a law firm training contract, there were three essential elements: (i) exposure to top quality work and clients, (ii) the opportunity to be responsible for my own caseload from an early stage in my training and (iii) a sensible work life balance. TWM fits the bill perfectly. The clients and work the firm attracts is second to none and the staff are always more than happy to give up their time to support you as a trainee”. David Powell |
"The two years I spent as a trainee at TWM hold a very special place in my career. I can honestly say that the knowledge, experiences and exposure I experienced during those two years shaped who I am today. I have been with TWM for 15 years now. Why? The list of reasons is long but the people, the opportunities for career progression and the outlook of the firm are high up on the list”. Claire Campbell |

“I have always enjoyed working at TWM – the three main characteristics that I found really helped my training were the friendliness and approachability of all staff, the responsibility that was given to me at a very early stage (and throughout my training) and the ethos of the firm. TWM is not driven solely by profit and billing clients; it is much more than that. At the heart of everything we do is a desire to make our clients happy and to treat everyone with whom we deal with respect, friendliness and good humour.” David Hitchcock |
"TWM Solicitors came to my attention as an evident frontrunner in legal services. Their respectable status directly corresponds with my aim to be employed in a reputable and modern firm from which I can enhance my legal knowledge and develop my career. There is definitely a unique TWM ethos focusing on developing professional but supportive relationships with both clients and staff and allowing opportunities for upward progression. I was made to feel immediately at ease and valued within the firm from day one." Fiona Buckland |
