2. Each party’s financial needs, obligations and liabilities;'

3. The standard of living enjoyed during the marriage;

4. The length of the marriage and the ages of the parties;

5. Any physical or mental disability either party suffers from;

6. Contributions made by each of the parties to the marriage both financially and otherwise;

7. Any behaviour by either of the parties that is so serious that it cannot be ignored; and

8. The value of any benefit which either of the parties will lose the opportunity of acquiring as a result of divorce, such as pension and insurance benefits.

The court has the power to order the sale or transfer of property, payment of lump sums, sharing of pensions and payment of maintenance.
