Fiona Buckland, Solicitor in Commercial Property
Fiona is a Solicitor in the Commercial Property and Collective Enfranchisement Team.
Fiona graduated from Law and International Relations at the University of Surrey in 2014 and then went on to complete her Legal Practice Course at the Guildford University of Law in 2016, achieving a Distinction grade. Fiona completed her training contract with TWM Solicitors and qualified in August 2018.
Fiona has experience in acting for either landlord or tenant in relation to commercial leases, sales and purchases, licences for alterations as well as lease extensions and section 5 notices. Notable recent transactions include a £7.5m refinance and restructure, managing the commercial property aspects of a demerger of a large group of companies and a telecommunications lease following the introduction of the new Digital Economy Act 2017.
Fiona has obtained extensive experience in residential conveyancing through various legal roles over the years, including dealing with Shared Ownership and Help to Buy properties.
Fiona continues to volunteer her time as a Specialist Housing Adviser at the Citizens Advice Bureau where she also runs property advice sessions.
In her spare time, Fiona enjoys singing and drama as well as playing the guitar and piano and is a trustee of The Herald Players, Guildford. She has fluency in Spanish and Portuguese, enjoys travelling and breeds butterflies throughout the Spring to Autumn period.
