Patrick is Managing Principal of the Firm and Head of the employment team. He qualified as a solicitor in 1984 and became a Principal in 1990. He advises employer and employee clients with all aspects of employment law, in particular dismissal, disciplinary hearings and discrimination matters. He is a regular advocate before Employment Tribunals. Particular cases of note to include:
- Shilton, dismissal of Managing Director and hard fought wrong dismissal claim.
- Pipex, negotiated Co away from liability for senior employee who had breached confidentiality obligations to previous employer.
- Malook, claim for trader against LIFFE employer achieved award for £500,000 damages.
- Bristow, claim against director for fraud, secured damages of c£1m, involved Freezing Injunction.
- Bain v Bowles (The Lady), claim for discrimination. Referred to Court of Appeal. Reported.
He is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Patrick's interests include the study of ancient Celtic civilisations and modern British and American politics.
